Hepatitis B and HIV Antibody Production Nov 11, 2007 I had Hep B 7 years ago, it is not chronic. I have took an HIV antibody test at week 9 of exposure to the HIV virus (during unprotected sex). The test was negative. I know that the tests are very accurate, but I am not questioning the test. My question is whether there are studies showing that individuals with a history of Hepatitis B take longer to produce HIV Antibodies when initially infected. I remember my doctor telling me that the immune system would be affected by Hep B, so I am now wondering if my body does not respond as quickly as a person that never had Hep B. |

 Good question. No there are no data suggesting that hepatitis B patients have a slower antibody response than those patients without HBV. | ||||||||
