|hep c and pregnant
Sep 16, 2007
my 21 daughter has had the hep c treatment for 6 months. she is now almost 7 months pregnant after about 3 months of being off the treatment. her recent blood test shows really high levels almost 350,000 again. they now want her to go to a specialist for tests. they say this can put stress on the baby at these high levels. what do you think is going to happen and will the baby have hep c also. after we found out she had it, i was checked and have it also. i had blood transfusions in 1977 when i had my first child. i had the daughter in 1986, could i have passed it to her then. i have had a liver biopsy though and it shows no activity harming the liver yet. debbie

Yes it is possible to transmit during pregnancy, but not common - about 5 percent of the time.
