Crime Scene Safety class
Sep 9, 2007

What is the biggest hazard to a crime scene investigator, Hep c or HIV and why?

Response from Dr. McGovern

Risk in this profession would be determined by whether there was any risk of a needlestick. I would suspect that this risk would be very low. After a needlestick exposure, the risk of hepatitis C is greater than HIV. This has been demonstrated in studies of healthcare workers exposed to patients with either infection.

What does this result mean?
why can't i give blood?
