hepatitus and hiv Aug 19, 2007 WE just found out that my brother is hiv positive. Does that mean he also has hepatitus C? We have small children and welcome him over, but what precautions should we take if he has hep c? |

 No precautions are necessary for your children if he also has hepatitis C. In general hepatitis C is transmitted by blood to blood exposure (sharing needles). Sexual transmission occasionally occurs. For household contacts, we only advise not sharing razors. | ||||||||
