The 3 main types of hepatitis that we discuss on this website are related to hepatitis A, B, and C. Hep A is transmitted through contaminated food and water and never causes chronic liver disease. Hepatitis B and C are transmitted through blood exposure. Hepatitis C causes chronic infection in the majority of people who contract it; in contrast hepatitis B is usually cleared by the majority. | |||||||||
