| PLEASE ANSWER Aug 8, 2007 can you PLEASE tell me what the window period for hepatitis c is. looking at all the answers below i can seem to find a definite answer and the other doctors say different things. can you please tell me when the majority of people would test positive for hepatitis c after exposure and then how long you should keep testing just to be certain. every place i look or ask has a different answer. |

The CDC recommends testing in 4 to 6 weeks and then a second test about 4 to 6 months later. The wide intervals are due to the fact that there are different incubation periods in different people. You might be reading some different suggestions, but they are all within a similar range. Most people seroconvert in 6 to 12 weeks. | |||||||||
