how long on treatment for hep c gen 3 Aug 6, 2007 i've been on interferon and ribovir for 7 months now with minimal side effects. i'm having some blurryness and strange lights in my vision and i met with a substitute doc as mine is out of town i'm going in for a retnal scan but she said i could easily finish treatment now since i'm genome 3 rather than the whole 48 week treatment. what do you think and any thoughts on the vision problems? thank you david |

 You definitely want to get tested by your ophthalmologist since interferon can rarely affect the retina. Any visual disturbance usually goes away with discontinuation of therapy, but you will want further evaluation. Yes genotype 3 is often cured with only 24 weeks of therapy. Good luck! | ||||||||
