| hep c from food Jul 15, 2007 I bought some fish. the gentleman helping me nicked himself on the fish spines. A little bit of blood got on the fish. Will cooking eliminate any danger or should i throw it away? |

You will obviously wash the fish and cook under high temperatures that would kill any viruses you may be concerned with. Furthermore, you are consuming the fish orally, which would not be a risk even if the Hepatitis B virus or HCV were still intact. Risk of hepatitis viruses comes from blood to blood exposure. | |||||||||
