Hep C 3a Jun 5, 2007 Hello, I was recently, (1 year) diagnosed with Hepatitis C genotype 3a. I have probably been infected for 20 years so far. I am not having any major side effects so far while I am doing my treatment with interferon and rivarbirin. What do you think are my chances for SVR and have there been any long term studies as far to how long has someone with SVR has gone without a relapse? Thank you |

 You should do quite well. I would predict about a 65-70 percent chance of clearing. However, if your virus clears in 4 weeks after starting treatment, there are data that suggest that the chance of a sustained virologic response (SVR) are even higher in those who rapidly clear. It is also critical to take all your medications. Yes, there are data to suggest that those who attain a SVR do not relapse. | ||||||||
