| work incident May 19, 2007 I was working on a patient the other day and I pricked my finger with a dirty instument that had blood on it. I know the patient has hep c. What are my chances that I caught it from her. I'm very scarred. |

You should definitely have follow-up testing to show that you are hepatitis C negative now, just for your own protection. I can't predict your chances of becoming infected, but I want to assure you that treating patients with acute infection is extremely successful -greater than 90 percent. That is why it is so important to get good follow-up. | |||||||||
