Can Inactive HepaB carriers spread to others May 6, 2007 I have a friend who is infected with Hepatitis B, but is considered a 'healthy carrier' since the virus is inactive. However, I was just wondering if person with this disease (which is inactive) could transmit the virus to other people, for example through touching their body when sweating, kissing, etc? Thank you |

 Transmission through an inactive carrier who does not have evidence of virus in their blood does not occur through sharing needles or sex since they do not have detectable virus. However, we still recommend preventive vaccination for household and sexual contacts since the virus can "reactivate" and be present in the blood again. Also some inactive carriers have low levels of virus present. ou don't get hepatitis B through the routes you asked about. | ||||||||
