Response from Dr. McGovern
It appears that you were exposed to hepatitis C in the past; you do not have chronic hepatitis B. The rest of your laboratories are actually very reassuring. I would advise you to have a HCV RNA level drawn. If that blood test is negative, you may have been exposed to hepatitis C in the past, but may have cleared it on your own. If your HCV RNA test is positive, you will need further evaluation for liver disease. However, again, the liver function tests are reassuring. | |||||||||
