| Hospitalization from HB Mar 23, 2007 Hello. I will be doing HB blood test tomorrow. I'm concerend that I MUST be hospitalized because of it. I live in a family that strongly believe sex before marraige is sinful. I am worried that my family will find out. Will I be able to recover from the virus without my parents/family noticing? When I take my results, will I know if I have an acute or a chronic HB? Or does the acute just develop to chronic? |

Response from Dr. McGovern
I am not sure why you are concerned about hepatitis B but will assume that you know your partner is a chronic hepatitis B carrier. You may want to check your records to see if you were immunized in the past against hepatitis B. Most people who are infected with hepatitis B have no symptoms and clear the virus on their own. | |||||||||
