hep c and hiv window period

in terms of simultaneous coinfection with hcv and hiv, how long should a person wait for an hiv test result to be accurate. i was told three months from a hiv testing counselor, but i've read on the internet it can take up to a year to produce hiv antibodies under these conditions??????

By six months you should know. There are rare circumstances of late seroconversion by 9 months, but these cases are extremely rare and not the norm.
