good day dok,kindly explain to me my wife's hepa profile HBsAG=0.978 positive AntiHBs=0.009negative HBeAG=0.011negative antiHBe=0.091positive antiHavIGM=0.019neg antiHBcIGM=0.021neg her SGPT=28.5 and her blood chem were WBC=9;PLATELET COUNT= adequate; NEUTROPHILS=0.70 lymphocytes=0.29 eosinophils=0.01 hemoglobin=122 hematocrite=0.37,pls explain to me the result of her hepa profile the doctor said that my wife need only rest and vitamins and live a normal life;we need a second opinion from you pls help us thanks in advance

Your wife is a chronic carrier of hepatitis B determined by the surface antigen positivity.

However, I cannot tell if her disease is active until she has testing of her HBV DNA. If there is no virus in her blood she is inactive. If there is virus, she is at risk for liver disease and then needs a biopsy.
