Dear Dr McGovern,
I was diagnosed with HBV infection during a routine test, later I underwent a complete check-up, here are the results:
HBsAg: reactive Anti-HBs: Non-reactive HBeAg: Non-reactive Anti-HBe: Reactive HBV DNA PCR: Negative ALT: 14 Liver U/S: normal sized liver, no lesions, normal study
---------------------------- I am planning to undergo a 3 shot vaccination as it might induce HBsAg clearance, what do you suggest Dr, as some have benefited from this therapeutic vaccine.
Any side effects?
Can the vaccination make the infection active again?
Tank you very much

You are an inactive carrier of hepatitis B. That is good news. You may still clear the virus on your own over time. I am not aware of any data suggesting that vaccine is helpful in this scenario.
You will need ongoing follow-up to be certain that your infection stays inactive. I would have your household family members (particularly your sexual partner or partners) vaccinated in the meantime.
