| more insight please Dec 3, 2006 i know i already asked u a question about my incident as a nail tech with my client and the cut and using the liquid styptic. but i just wanted to know why when i read every wher else they scare you about transmission through open cuts thats whats freaking me out because i had a 2 hr old paper like cuts on pointer finger and the liquid styptic dripped directly on my cut finger but like is said i dont know if blood dripped on me im sure she bled a little but alls i saw was the liquid styptic. all in all i have spoke to paramedics and dr and im going to talk to someone because i have such an hiv fear. and all has tryed to reassure me. but reading even on ur site how any open abrasion or cut or irritated skin poses a risk keeps praying on my mind. but you gave me such a good answer and so promptly u dont know how much i appreciate it. so if u could give me just a little more insight or reasoning behind ur answer id really really benefit from it along with the help im getting from therapist. other than this incident i have no other risk factors for contracting. thank u so muck best regards. |

Response from Dr. McGovern
You can always get tested for any infection if you are still very concerned. That may be the best way to relieve your anxiety. I wouldn't recommend testing based on what you describe. | |||||||||
