anti-HCV test time
Aug 12, 2006

How long after possible exposure to Hepatitis C would it take for negative test results to be conclusive?

I french kissed a woman and later found out she is HCV+. I was tested for HCV infection at 8 weeks and the test results were negative. I also showed neg. for HCV antibodies. I've read the archives and see that kissing is low risk for HCV transmission.

Should I get tested again? Is 8 weeks conclusive?

Thanks in advance!

Response from Dr. McGovern

I wouldn't have done the first test for kissing so this is conclusive.
