| hcv transmission Jul 22, 2006 I recently found out my friend's mother has hep c from needle use long time ago.Before this we have shared cigarettes and drinks from time to time.All I can think about now is whether I am at risk for getting it.I am mostly concerned because at one point I had a cold sore on the corner of my mouth at one of those times.It wasn't bleeding or anything, but I am stuck with the what if possibility and am really scared.Can you please help and advise me if i am at risk or not.Thank you so much |

HCV is transmitted through blood contact. It is not shared by kissing or hugging. We do not recommend sharing razors or drinking glasses; however, there are no clear data that support that these routes are effective. Most people get HCV through injection drug use or occasionally through sex. I don't see any reason to get tested. | |||||||||
