 The treatment with a proven track record in pegylated interferon with ribavirin. The efficacy for genotype 1 is about 45 percent. Side effects can be fatigue, loss of appetite, muscle aches, headaches, low white counts, low platelet counts, and many other symptoms. However, I have had few patients stop treatment just for severity of side effects. Most of my patients do have signficant fatigue though. | ||||||||
