| Elevated liver enzyme AST/ALT Jul 8, 2006 My AST/ALT are higher than normal range, all Hepatitis panel negative except B core ab which to me has always been positive indicating past exposure or immunity. No drug, no sex, no alcohol involvement. Fatty liver? No weight problem. What could I look for except biopsy of liver? |

Response from Dr. McGovern
You may want to see a hepatologist to see if you have had a complete evaluation for other causes of liver disease such as hemochromatosis, autoimmune liver disease, etc. On the other hand these blood tests may just be a little out of range and do not represent any disease. Other causes of mild elevations can include medications. | |||||||||
