| my new treatment for hbv Jun 7, 2006 Dr,Mcgovern THanks for this forum! I have been diagnosed for 3 years with hep B chronic. I went on Hepsera and my viral levels got worse during my year of treatment liver function was at about 18% I went to a new doctor who got coulcel from University of Miami. I HIV- and am now on Epiver and Viread ( experimental for HBV only). And the virus has become non detectable and my liver is functioning at 100%. I will probably going to have to take this for the rest of my life and it is exspensive. I just though some of you readers would like to know that there are alternate meds and new ones on the way Mike |

Response from Dr. McGovern
Thank you for sharing your good news with us. Viread is being tested in clinical trials to learn more about its effectiveness in hepatitis B, but it certainly looks very good so far. | |||||||||
