| Hep C and used earrings Mar 10, 2006 My aunt who is Hep C positive just gave me a pair of her earrings and I put them on without giving it a second thought. But now I read on many websites that people with Hep C should not share earrings. How common is this method of transmission since neither of us have new earring holes that are still healing? I'm kind of freaking out since I can't take an immediate test and can't know for sure for six months. Thank you in advance. |

Response from Dr. McGovern
I don't think of this as a risk behavior at all. Once your ears are pierced, new skin (epithelium) is formed. I would not worry at all. Dr. M | |||||||||
