| Only 23 years old!! Feb 4, 2006 I have lost 30 pounds in the last year. My doctor recently diagnosed me with mono, which i have had for a year. First they started out with a bone marrow biopsy because of my symptoms-fevers, chills, night sweats, weight loss, swollen lymph glands(especially on aorta?)low grade temps, numb pinky on left hand, diarrhea, naseua, enlarged liver and spleen, pale skin, dark under eyes, sometimes skin appears green, dehydration, slight sore throat(no tonsils or appendix) depression(at times)I am a 23 year old white female with 1 high risk partner. My question is WHY have they never given me and HIV test? Do you think it sounds like and HIV infection? |

Response from Dr. McGovern
If you think you are at risk, certainly ask for HIV testing. I would order an HIV test, along with many other tests, as a routine evaluation for fevers of unknown origin. Please direct any other HIV related questions to the HIV forum. | |||||||||
