|Pain in the right side
Jan 21, 2006
I have chronic HepB. I get some pain in the right side of the body. The pain is not unbearable but it does get my attention. I feel that the pain subsides after I have bowel movement. But then it starts back up may be few hours later. In the past I have been tested for abdominal ultrasound and it did not find any galstones. I would like to know how I control this pain.
Currently I am taking Entacvir. I have been taking Entecvir for past 2 months. Before that I took Adefovir for 12 months. The pain was also there when I was taking Adefovir and was there before I started the Hep-B treatment.
Following are my lab results:
I had liver biopsy on 10/28/04 which showed Fibrosis stage 2 and inflammation grade 1. Here are my latest lab results.

Response from Dr. McGovern
I am not sure what is causing your pain. Your liver biopsy does not show severe advanced disease and I am not sure what could be the etiology of your symptoms.
Your liver function tests are reassuring. Your virus level is coming down as well.
Good luck with your therapy.
