| is there a possibility? Jan 21, 2006 Hello Doc. Barbara McGovern, I am a HBV carrier and goin to meet this guy in a few days. He got 2 vaccination injections, but the recent result showed he has no antibodies. Does this mean he will be one of the few ppl who will never produce antibodies?? and we will not even be able to kiss when we meet in a few days, since saliva also has hep b virus?? what can we do if he will never have antibodies?? please answer, I have no idea what to do now! Thank you very much in advance! best wishes! |

Response from Dr. McGovern
You cannot pre-judge his response yet. He has only received two injections and it is still likely that he will respond to the third. Although HBV is in saliva, there is no good data to prove that this is the way HBV gets transmitted. HBV is transmitted through unprotected sex and injection drug use. Hope this is helpful.
