Nov 6, 2005

what are some of your rigid tx for hepa b?im currently on lamivudine for 2mo.is there tendency for the virus to deplet this early?how much the dna level a person is non infectious but +hepa b

Response from Dr. McGovern

If you are having a great response to lamivudine, you may have had very abnormal liver function tests to start with. Those patients tend to do very well.

Once virus is suppressed, your risk of transmission to others certainly goes down. However, your partner should still be vaccinated against hepatitis B in case your virus should come back.
