Hep C Sex
Oct 25, 2005

I had sex with a female someone that has hep C only once, and without a condom. What are the chances plz out of 100 that i contracted it should i be worried??? plz reply thanks.

Response from Dr. Dieterich

Good question! It is a common one. Heterosexual sex is not a way to either contract or spread HCV. Men who have sex with men often get HCV sexually. However heterosexual sex is very unlikely to spread HCV. The chances are virtually zero. However, having sex without a condom is not a good idea, you can get HIV and Hepatitis B that way as well as many other sexually transmitted diseases. Dont worry about this exposure, however get vaccinated for Hepatitis A and B and always have a condom with you! Stay safe! DTD

hepatitis A
Thank you
