JUST WHAT HARM DOES MARIJUANA CAUSE TO THE LIVER IN CASES OF CIRRHOSIS?THERE APPEARS TO BE LITTLE SERIOUS INFORMATION ABOUT THIS ON THE WEB.INDEED, MUCH OF IT IS CONFLICTING.
| Response from Dr. Dieterich
You are right, there was something recently that suggested that marijuana might actually make HCV worse. That would go against what we have previously been telling people. There are receptors, recently described for cannabinoids in the liver too. Their actual function is not well known yet. For the meantime, go slow and be careful with marijuana if you have liver disease. DTD
