|Heart Damage? Please answer..
Aug 31, 2005
I have hepatitis C and recently had a bad experience with cocaine.( I took too much and couldn't breathe for an hour.) Is there a chance I could have permenantly damaged my heart? Does my hep C increase these risks? It was only the second time I had tried the drug, and my last. I have been expierencing a rapid heart rate once in a while since then, but I think I may be worrying myself about it and putting myself into a panic attack. I currently do not have a physican so yuor help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Dr. D..

Thanks for sharing your experience! HCV does not affect the heart, nor does it interact with cocaine. However cocaine does affect the heart and you really should see someone about your heart ASAP! That is often how cocaine kills people :through irregular heart rhythms. Go see a cardiologist and you are correct never to use cocaine again! Good question! DTD
