| hepatitus.b surface antibody reactive Aug 6, 2005 my sgpt(alt)level was high like it was suppose to be in between 0-55 mine was 77i.u/l so i went to do hepatitus b and c test so when i got the test it said hep.c.antibody non reactive ,hep.b .surface antigen non reactive,hep.b.surface antibody reactive (25.4)miu/ml so will please tell me what does it means? |

As for your test results: 1. You do not have hepatitis C infection by antibody results. 2. Your hepatitis surface antibody positivity can be consistent with past exposure to hepatitis B if your hepatitis B core antibody is also positive (this was not tested). If you core antibody is negative, then your surface antibody positivity is probably related to past vaccination. 3. Your abnormal liver function test can be related to many many possibilities including medications, fatty liver and others. Dr. McGovern | |||||||||
