Response from Dr. McGovern
Hepatitis C is contracted through exposure to contaminated blood. The most common route for this is through injection drug use. Sexual transmission is uncommon. Hepatitis C can cause chronic hepatitis and liver injury. Most people do develop chronic disease so it is important to be evaluated to see if you fall into a chronic stage versus someone who cleared their virus on their own. Dr. McGovern | |||||||||
