 Hepatitis B surface antigen reactivity means that you have chronic hepatitis B infection. How active it is depends on how much virus is in your blood (HBV DNA). You may or may not need treatment depending on whether you are an "inactive" or an "active" chronic hepatitis B patient. Discuss your status with your doctor who will need more laboratory tests than hepatitis B surface antigen to classify your infection. Dr. McGovern | ||||||||
