|Any Cure on Hep B?
May 22, 2005
I am a married male. Last December, I have undergone Hepatitis Panel and here are the results:
HB Surface Antigen - Reactive (Confirmed)
Antibody to HB Surface Antigen - Non Reactive
Igm Antibody HP A virus - Non Reactive
Igm Antibody to HB Core Antigen - Non Reactive
HP Be Antigen - Non Reactive
Antibody to HP Be Antigen - Reactive (Confirmed)
Antibody to Hepatitis C - Non Reactive
My ALT test result is 34(0-66).
My question is, is there any chance of getting cured from this ailment? What are your recommended diets and foods to avoid developing cancer on the liver or cirrhosis..
Response from Dr. McGovern
Two tests are missing - I suspect your hepatitis B core antibody is positive for IgG. If so, it appears that you may have already seroconverted your HBeantibody. Your normal liver function tests seem to support this as well. I suspect you don't have any virus in your blood, but I don't see a HBVDNA level, which is important in ruling out viremia and HBeAntigen negative infection.
I would only recommend that you stay away from alcohol.
