|HCV Treatment with Interferon and Ribavirin
May 10, 2005
What is the latest recommended treatment for HCV genotype 1a ? How many times in a week a person sholuld inject the Interferon ? How much time usualy does it takes from the injectios and until the bad feelings are over ? Thank you.

The treatment recommendation is for pegylated interferon injected once weekly plus ribavirin pills twice per day for 48 weeks. The side effects usually occur the day after the injection. Many people who work Monday to Friday will inject on Friday night and then by Sunday they are reasonably comfortable and by Monday ready for work. It is never easy but it is definitely do able! Good luck! DTD
