Response from Dr. McGovern
Hepatitis just means inflammation of the liver. Hepatitis can be caused by viruses such as hepatitis A, B, C, Epstein-Barr, CMV, and others. The most common causes are A,B,C. HAV is transmitted through contaminated food and water. HBV and HCV is transmitted through contact with blood (ie injection drug use with needle sharing, sexual trasmission). Dr. McGovern | |||||||||
