| !STUDENT WHO RECEIVED A HUGE PUNCH Mar 9, 2005 Dear Doctor. I am 19 and I went to this student party the other night. A guy punched me with his fist into my nose and my nose started bleeding very much. There was this only punch but right now I'm scared to death that this might have led to hiv or hepatitis c transmission. Do you think I am at risk? (I mean bigger risk that a car crash ...etc.) Thank you very much. Simon |

Response from Dr. Dieterich
No risk from getting punched in the nose. If there was a lot of blood exchanged between you from broken lips and knuckles, then there would be a risk. Getting punched in the nose is only a risk for a broken nose and a bruised ego! Keep your head down! DTD | |||||||||
