| hep b positive? Mar 7, 2005 I had an affair 15 months ago and have had symptoms related to hep for the past year. I have tested neg. for hep b & c at 3 months and 8 months after exposure. I also took hep c PCR which was negative. Have also tested neg. for other STD's including HIV and CMV. I don't understand what is causing extreme gastrointestinal probems, constant fatigue, etc. Is it possible to have false negative results on Hep b AB/Ag? Please help. |

Response from Dr. McGovern
I would suggest that these symptoms are non-specific and could be consistent with many other diagnoses. Furthermore, your testing is reassuring. I would continue to see your primary care doctor to determine the cause of your symptoms, but hepatitis seems to have been ruled out. Dr. McGovern | |||||||||
