What is hepititus A?
| Response from Dr. McGovern
Hepatitis A is a virus which can be transmitted through fecal oral exposure. It can live in contaminated foods or contaminated water. It can cause acute hepatitis, although it does not cause chronic liver disease.
There is a vaccine available for people who realize they have been exposed to this virus.
