blood exposure Jan 30, 2005 If blood splatters in the eyes ,nose or mouth is there any way of telling? Is there a stinging ,burning sensation or a smell or taste? Or is there no way of telling? Thanks! |

 Usually, any blood exposure of concern to mucous membranes (eyes, mouth, nose) is obvious. Even then, risk of transmission is much, much lower than with other exposures such as accidental needlesticks in health care workers. Dr. McGovern | ||||||||
