HVC maintainance therapy Dec 6, 2004 Hello Dr Dieterich, I completed HVC treatment 6 months ago (Riboviran/Pegalated interferon). My virus level dropped 2 log after 12 weeks but wasn't undetectable until after 20 weeks. It returned 1 month after completing treatment. My doctor says that treatment recommendations now say to start the on the peg/ribo and once the virus is undetectable the 48 week regimen starts. I'm 48 years old had HCV for years and am in stage-3. I willing to do it again but a second opinion is required as my insurance company will look at my past treatment and write me off as a non-responder. Any ideas? |
