| vaccination titers prove immune competence? Dec 2, 2004 Dear Doctor Dieterich: I am concerned about delayed serocinversion due to a possible simultaneous exposure HIV/Hep C. Have had some weird symptoms and raiseed ALT and hypogonadism. After my potential exposure, I had the Hep B series vaccinations, and titers developed. Does this prove immune competence? (ie., If I can make antibodies to Hep B virus, I should have made antibodies to prior HIV/Hep C infection) Sincerely, Probably worried well |

Response from Dr. Dieterich
Sounds like you are immunocompetent. However that does not prove that you dont have something else. I assume that you tested negative for HIV and HCV. Great idea to get vaccinated! DTD | |||||||||
