| HCV test reports Sep 6, 2004 recently i was tested for HCV (riba test) and this result was "positive" and my Alt level was "Above 200" after this i was tested for PCR quantitative and Qualitative and the result was " Hepatitis Virus Not Detected" whts does it mean. Qureshi |

The positive RIBA means that you certainly were infected with hepatitis C virus. The elevated liver tests would be consistent with that diagnosis. However, when the virus itself was checked, there was no detectable virus in your serum. This could mean that you recently cleared your virus. I would definitely recheck this to be certain that this is true. If the sample was not properly handled, the virus can die and not be detected. Dr. McGovern | |||||||||
