| Hepatitis B Aug 14, 2004 if someone is fostrated with actively chronic hepatitise B and it was discovered that he/she got it from birth, is the any cure? because the disturbance of the disease in the wholebody is giving the highest fustration of ones life. There are actually very good treatments now for hepatitis B. I would first be certain that your hepatitis B virus is active by checking a hepatitis B DNA test. You will also want to discuss with your doctor a full panel on hepatitis B testing, whether a liver biopsy should be done, and whether you need an alfa feto protein blood test. Good therapies include lamivudine and adefovir - both of which are well tolerated. Dr. McGovern | |||||||||
