 Since you have labelled your query as a "non-hep" question, I am assuming that you are anxious about being tested for HIV. Yes, you can relax since you have tested negative since it appears that you have not been exposed to HIV in the past. If you had protected intercourse, you are also not at risk for "primary HIV" - ie recent infection. The most important thing to do is to always have safe sex. This will prevent you from acquiring HIV, hepatitis viruses and other sexually transmitted diseases. Stay safe! Dr. McGovern | ||||||||
