Contraction through sex Jul 9, 2003 A doctor told me that HCV can be contracted between monogamous sexual partners if they should engage in "rough sex". What is meant by "rough sex"? Granted that contraction between monogamous partners is very rare, but what is the rationale for taking even a small chance of contraction by engaging in sex? Is the pleasure worth the worry? |

 I would define rough sex that might be risky as anal sex between heterosexuals. Anything that involves blood would be mildly risky. There is very little worry about normal vaginal sex transmitting HCV. I can't answer the pleasure versus worry question. There is a role for sex in monogamous couples that also has to do with love.
