 Hepatitis C does not cause anemia usually. However the treatment for it with ribavirin does. That can easily be treated with Procrit. If you are not taking treatment then your MD needs to make sure you are not losing iron from your stomach or colon before supplementing your iron levels. That is usually done with colonoscopy and endoscopy. You should have a colonoscopy anyway since you are over 50. Good luck! DTD | ||||||||
