I have had unprotected sex with my boyfriend who has Hep C. I give blood on a regular basis, will they pick up Heb C if I have it or should I get a specialty test. I have been sexually active for 3 months and I am due to give blood this week Thanks

Hep C is not really a sexually transmitted disease. However other diseases are and you should use protection like a condom. Yes the blood bank checks for HCV on routine screening, but using them to monitor you is not a good idea! Safe sex also prevents pregnancy if you are female! DTD
