Please help me understand!
Jan 9, 2003

can someone please help me understand my hep b results...

Hbs ag= negative Hbs ab= negative Hb core ab= POSITIVE

Hb viral dna- none detected Hb e ag= negative Hb e ab= negative Hb s ab= <10 (indicating non immunity)

Range 0.017-6000 and 4700-1,700,000,000 copies/ml Results HBV DNA= <0.017 HBV DNA= <4700

Please help me understand whether i am a carrier with low antigens that are undetectable or distantly immune with low antibodies that are undetectable.

Thank you!!!!!!!!!!

Response from Dr. Dieterich

You have isolated core antibody which is evidence of an old infection that has gotten better. You are cured, and you don't need vaccine, you are also immune! Congratulations! Forget about it, you are fine! DTD
