Is it possible to be HBsAG +ve and HBeAG -ve and remain asympotic during the initial acute phase of hepatitis B.

It is possible to be asymptomatic during the acute illness, but not e ag negative. It is certainly possible to be e antigen negative and have active chronic hepatitis, that is known as the pre core mutation. The DNA however is the main issue. DTD
